We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!
The Role
• Take end-to-end responsibility for selected modules of a long-established, Uniface-based practice information system, delivering high-quality changes relied upon by thousands of practices daily.
• Modernize and refactor existing Uniface codebases, enhancing maintainability and stabilizing critical workflows in outpatient care alongside the development team.
• Collaborate closely with architecture and AI teams to integrate Uniface modules with modern Java/Quarkus services and AI-driven workflows, connecting the system with healthcare network infrastructure and various data exchange ecosystems.
• Utilize AI code assistants to accelerate the analysis, refactoring, and documentation of existing Uniface code, feeding insights back into the team.
• Actively contribute to the long-term evolution strategy of the system, balancing reliable delivery with gradual platform modernization.
What You'll Need
• Several years of senior-level experience in Uniface development, ideally within business-critical, long-lived application systems requiring high availability.
• A university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable technical field with strong academic performance.
• Deep understanding of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and Uniface deployment/integration patterns; proficiency with version control, build/delivery processes; and effective use of AI tools in software engineering.
• Fluent German and English, enabling confident communication in international settings and with German-speaking clients and stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills, pragmatic and self-directed work ethic, high proactivity, innovative spirit, and an entrepreneurial mindset aligned with a long-term product responsibility in the healthcare sector.
