Your job
As an IT Platform Engineer you are responsible for developing and implementing crucial functionality for the Enterprise Data Lake.
You will work closely with other development engineers, system administrators, and security professionals to ensure that the platform meets our client’s needs while adhering to best practices in scalability, reliability, fault tolerance and security within the banking industry.
Key Responsibilities:
o Develop, and deliver robust, secure, and high-quality solutions in a cloud-based environment.
o Advocate and apply best practices in software engineering, including SOLID principles, design patterns, and domain-driven design (DDD).
o Partner with Product Owners, Architects, and IT stakeholders to align technical strategy with business objectives.
o Work with the engineering team in building and maintaining scalable data platforms in Azure.
o Implement DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery.
o Ensure code quality through automated testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, mocking).
o Support and mentor team members, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Your profile
We are looking for a colleague with proven experience as a IT Platform Engineer with a proficiency in Object Oriented programming languages (e.g.
Python).
You’ll be engaged in all aspects of reliable software development: from planning/design stage, hands-on development and testing to automated deployment.
We are also looking for someone with the following profile:
Required Technical Skills
Strong experience in object-oriented programming, analysis, and design (Python preferred).Proven expertise with Cloud services (using SDK, Terraform, Databricks – Azure preferred).Experience with Unity Catalog is a plus.Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g.
Terraform) is a plus.Strong understanding of the incremental software development cycle, DevOps, and CI/CD.Application of SOLID principles and design patterns.Familiarity with writing layer tests/testing pyramid (Pytest is a plus)
