Location: Remote (Malaysia-based candidates preferred) Employment Type: Contract / Full-Time Team: Engineering We are hiring a Backend Engineer to build scalable APIs and backend services powering our product ecosystem. You will work primarily with TypeScript, NestJS, and Aurora PostgreSQL, contributing to both new feature development and platform improvements. Key Responsibilities Design and develop RESTful APIs and backend servicesBuild scalable applications using TypeScript and NestJSDevelop and optimize database schemas in Aurora PostgreSQLCollaborate with frontend, QA, and DevOps teams Requirements 5+ years of backend engineering experience building production APIs, services, databases, queues, workers, and distributed systemsStrong hands-on experience with TypeScript / Node.js / NestJS, REST APIs, SQL/NoSQL databases, and event-driven systemsStrong system design fundamentals: API design, data modelling, resilience, performance, observability, security, maintainability, and SLA/SLO awarenessAble to own services end-to-end: design, implementation, testing, documentation, deployment readiness, monitoring, incident response, and operational handoffComfortable using AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, test generation, documentation, code review, log analysis, and implementation planning Nice to Have Experience with AWS servicesKnowledge of message queues, caching, and event-driven architecturesInterest or experience in Web3 / blockchain applications
