Description

An established, high-performing organisation in the travel sector is investing heavily in its digital platforms. This is a Intermediate Fullstack Engineer role focused on building and enhancing a customer-facing booking platform used by travellers worldwide, while modernising a cloud-native, PHP-centric environment. You will join a talented cross-functional digital team and play a key part in moving toward a fully automated DevOps lifecycle, improving speed to market, reliability, and the overall customer booking experience. There is also genuine scope to bring in agentic AI thinking, automation and scripting to streamline engineering workflows and operational processes. What you’ll be working on Build and enhance features across a customer booking platform (search, pricing, checkout and post-booking)Develop and maintain APIs and integrations with third-party suppliers and internal systemsWrite clean, reliable PHP code and contribute to performance and stability improvementsWork with product and stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver practical solutionsHelp review current systems, raise risks/limitations, and contribute ideas for improvementsTest, debug and resolve issues to meet agreed specs and improve customer experienceSupport delivery improvements through automation, scripting and CI/CD uplift (where needed)Keep technical documentation up to date to support smooth releases and operations AI and Automation Focus We’re looking for someone who can combine strong software engineering fundamentals with a modern automation mindset, including: Building scripts and tooling to remove repetitive manual work (build/release processes, environment tasks, operational runbooks, data fixes)Applying agentic AI concepts in a practical way (for example: AI-assisted internal tools, intelligent workflow automation, automated triage or operational assistants)Implementing AI/automation safely with good engineering practices (maintainability, observability, and appropriate controls) What You’ll Bring 4+ years’ experience as a Software Developer in commercial environmentsStrong hands-on experience with PHP in productionSolid capability across JavaScript, MySQL, HTML and CSSExperience with ReactJS, jQuery and/or other JS frameworks/librariesExperience writing functional tests (e.g., PHPUnit)Strong experience building complex solutions, including from scratch where requiredProven experience building and integrating RESTful APIs and third-party vendor integrationsKnowledge of AWS and cloud-native patternsExperience with Docker and KubernetesStrong automation and scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python or similar) What's on Offer Hybrid, flexible working environmentStrong culture with genuine growth opportunitiesBenefits including parking and public transport subsidiesWork on a product with real customer impact and meaningful technical scope (platform modernisation, DevOps automation, AI-driven workflow improvements) Next Steps?
