Role Summary The Head of IT Infrastructure will take overall ownership of the company’s IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and reliability across all core systems and services. The role will lead the IT and DevOps teams, oversee infrastructure operations, and ensure reliable support for business and online services. The successful candidate will provide strong technical leadership while remaining hands-on, with responsibility for Windows and Linux environments, virtualization, cloud and hybrid infrastructure, networking, security, backups, disaster recovery, and production systems. They will work closely with Development, DevOps, and Cybersecurity teams to maintain a secure, scalable, and reliable IT environment. Key Responsibilities Take overall ownership of the company’s IT infrastructure, availability, performance, and reliability.Lead and coordinate IT team including DevOps engineers.Manage Windows Server environments, including deployment, configuration, patching, monitoring, and lifecycle management.Maintain and develop infrastructure supporting web applications and online services, working closely with the DevOps and development team.Oversee servers, storage, backup systems, monitoring, networking, firewalls, VPNs, and other core infrastructure components.Ensure high availability, business continuity, disaster recovery, and reliable backup procedures.Establish and maintain infrastructure monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and performance management.Define and maintain infrastructure security standards, access controls, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.Manage relationships with infrastructure, cloud, software, hardware, and managed-service vendors.Participate in budgeting, technology planning, procurement, and infrastructure lifecycle management.Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for complex infrastructure issues and incidents.Establish appropriate IT policies, procedures, and standards for a mid-sized organization.Security & Compliance: Partner with cybersecurity team to enforce policies, mitigate risks, and meet compliance standards. Requirements Technical Environment The successful candidate should have strong practical experience with: VMware / vSphere / ESXi.Windows Server.Server and virtualization architecture.Cloud infrastructure and hybrid environments.Web applications hosting and production infrastructure.Linux environments and basic-to-advanced troubleshooting.Networking, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, routing and switching.Backup and disaster recovery solutions.Infrastructure monitoring and logging.Security and access management.Automation and scripting, preferably PowerShell and/or Bash.DevOps practices and CI/CD concepts, Git.
