Azure Platform Engineer

IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE This is a Cloud Platform Engineer focused on operations, support, and maintenance, not a Data Engineer role. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining production Azure and Databricks environments, troubleshooting platform issues, supporting infrastructure deployments through Terraform, and ensuring the stability of enterprise cloud services. DAY TO DAY Maintain and support enterprise Azure Databricks environments with a focus on platform stability, governance, and operational excellence.Deploy and manage infrastructure using Terraform, including environment updates, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance activities.Support Unity Catalog, workspace administration, cluster configuration, user provisioning, and access management.Perform patching, upgrades, and operational maintenance to keep cloud environments healthy and compliant.Provide L2/L3 support for Databricks platform-related issues and escalation requests.Troubleshoot issues across Azure infrastructure, Databricks, networking, IAM, and Terraform deployments.Respond to internal customer requests regarding platform access, infrastructure changes, and technical support inquiries.Develop and maintain automation scripts and tooling using Python and/or Java to support platform operations and administration.Support Azure services including Storage Accounts, Azure Active Directory, IAM, Service Principals, App Registrations, and RBAC configurations.Collaborate with cloud engineering teams supporting RBC's enterprise data platform ecosystem.Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps processes, primarily from a support and maintenance perspective rather than greenfield development.
