DT Infrastructure is continuing to expand its renewable energy portfolio, and we are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our Brisbane Head Office and provide high-quality legal and commercial support across our growing pipeline of renewable energy projects.
This is a key role within our legal and commercial function, partnering closely with project delivery, commercial and project finance teams throughout the full project lifecycle.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, with a dotted-line relationship to the Head of Legal, you will provide independent legal advice across contractual obligations, project risk, commercial arrangements, disputes and regulatory requirements.
You will work closely with project teams to identify risks early, protect DTI’s contractual position and support successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities Provide independent legal advice to project delivery and commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Advise on upstream client matters and downstream arrangements with subcontractors, suppliers and consultants.
Prepare, review and negotiate commercial and contractual arrangements, including subcontracts, supply agreements, consultancy agreements, claims, leases, licences, bonds and guarantees.
Identify and advise on legal and commercial risks, contractual entitlements, notices, disputes and potential claims.
Support project teams with contractual compliance, security of payment requirements, payment claims and dispute resolution matters.
Profile description:
Tertiary legal qualifications and current or recent experience as a practising lawyer.
6+ years' experience in a similar legal counsel role, ideally within construction or complex infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of construction law and construction and infrastructure contracts.
Sound commercial judgement, negotiation skills and an ability to identify and manage project risk.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and appropriately challenge across the business.
