Senior Backend Engineer

Your RoleWe are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who enjoys taking ownership, thinking beyond individual tickets and actively shaping a growing platform. In our environment, backend engineering means more than implementation. You will be involved in technical decision-making, architectural evolution and improving how we build and run our systems. As we grow, this role can naturally evolve towards technical leadership or a lead position, depending on your interests and strengths. What You’ll DoDrive the further development of our backend systems and servicesTake part in architectural decisions and backlog prioritizationRefactor and improve existing codebases, reducing technical debtBuild and enhance APIs to make our platform more accessible and scalableAutomate internal processes to support business teams and customersTake shared ownership of DevOps topics, including deployment, monitoring and reliabilityOrchestrate Docker containers for stable deployments on AWSBuild and maintain automated deployment pipelines (e.g. Drone.io, Cypress)Create and maintain clean, sustainable documentation What You BringStrong experience with backend development in a production environmentIn-depth understanding of Django and Django REST framework or similarPython proficiency (must-have)Hands-on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD, containerization and cloud environmentsExperience with Docker and AWS; OpenSearch and monitoring tools are a plusA pragmatic, quality-driven engineering mindset with a sense of ownershipAbility to balance code quality, delivery speed and system reliabilityEnjoyment of working in a collaborative team that shares responsibility and impactBonus skill: a surprisingly solid taste in bad music for the perfect sprint song If you are excited about building scalable backend systems that actually make a difference, and you want to grow together with a purpose-driven team, we’d love to hear from you. The actual salary depends on your qualifications and experience and is between 3,900 € and 5,000 € gross per month (on a 38.5 hour basis). The salary is paid 14 times per year.​
