Gamuda Engineering is a reputable Engineering and Construction contractor that specialises in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Transport, Civil and Energy Infrastructure projects.
As part of Gamuda’s commitment to expansion, Gamuda Engineering has established offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane to pursue and deliver a variety of construction projects.
We are currently delivering the Sydney Metro West Stations Package, and in joint venture partnerships delivering both the Coffs Harbour Bypass and the M1 Motorway Extension Southern Package along with numerous other road, water and renewable energy projects.
To support our continued expansion, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Business Development Manager to lead our growth initiatives in the civil and transport infrastructure sectors across the southern states - Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania.
The Role
With a focus on the burgeoning southern civil and transport infrastructure sectors, you will be responsible for developing customer relationships across these states, including regional markets.
You will cultivate early-stage project opportunities (including EOIs and proposals) and work closely with our Precontracts, Engineering, and Commercial teams to develop winning tender responses in the transport and civil infrastructure sector.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Building and maintaining key customer relationships across Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania, including metropolitan and regional markets, to support Gamuda’s continued expansion.Developing project prospect pipelines and business development plans aligned with our strategic transport and civil growth objectives.Managing EOIs and proposal processes, including managing internal approvals and collaborating closely with key internal partners across marketing, pre-contracts, engineering, and commercial departments.Building strong relationships with potential project partners, including design consultancies, Joint Venture (JV) partners, and major subcontractors.Providing local market intelligence to identify upcoming civil and transport opportunities and support strategic bid positioning.
This position will be based in our Melbourne office, with regular domestic travel required to support project development and client engagement across VIC, SA, and TAS.
Your Skills & Experience
You will be a proactive, resilient, and highly collaborative business development professional with a proven track record of securing major projects in the civil construction or transport infrastructure sectors.
Specifically, you will bring:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Commerce, or Marketing.Significant experience working with successful construction and engineering companies in the Australian market.Well-established networks within the infrastructure market, including state transport departments, local authorities, and regional clients.A demonstrated history of developing successful business development strategies and plans.A strong understanding of value propositions and formulating winning bid strategies and commercial deals.An ability to work effectively between technical, commercial, marketing, and pre-contracts teams internally to produce the best possible tender outcomes.
