Senior Golang Engineer Essen or Leipzig | RemoteUp to €90,000 + excellent benefits The company: We’re working with an established German software company whose products help businesses replace manual, document heavy processes with modern digital systems. Its software supports areas including document management, secure archiving, invoice processing, contracts and HR workflows. The company has an established product portfolio and long term customers. It is now investing in the next phase of its technology, modernising existing systems and expanding its cloud native capabilities. The role: They’re hiring two Senior Golang Engineers to help drive that modernisation. You won’t be joining simply to maintain what already exists. You’ll build new cloud native services in Go, improve mature and interconnected systems and have a genuine say in how the wider platform evolves. You’ll work across the complete engineering lifecycle, from architectural decisions and development through to deployment and production. This role would suit an experienced Go engineer who enjoys hands on development, complex backend problems and taking responsibility beyond simply writing code. What you’ll be doing Building cloud native backend services using GoModernising existing services and interconnected systemsDesigning scalable, reliable and high performance architecturesDeveloping new product features within an agile engineering teamBuilding and integrating modern backend APIsImproving Kubernetes, CI/CD and engineering automationOwning solutions from the initial idea through to productionContributing to technical decisions and engineering standardsSharing knowledge with other engineers What they’re looking for Strong commercial Go development experienceExperience building cloud native or distributed backend systemsGood knowledge of Kubernetes and containerisationExperience with cloud services and modern cloud architectureHands on DevOps and CI/CD knowledgeSomeone proactive who enjoys solving difficult technical problemsA genuine focus on software qualityA Computer Science degree or equivalent technical trainingVery good German and good English The role is focused on backend and cloud engineering. The wider platform also uses Java, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Vue.js and Flutter, so experience with any of these technologies would be useful but isn’t required.
