Role Description The Cloud Engineer will work on-site in Greater Kuala Lumpur in a full-time capacity, designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure that supports G2G’s global ecommerce platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include deploying and managing cloud services, optimizing system performance, and ensuring scalability and high availability for critical applications. The role involves collaborating with software development teams to automate deployments, improve CI/CD pipelines, and maintain reliable integration between application services and cloud resources. The Cloud Engineer will monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and implement robust security and backup strategies aligned with industry best practices. The position also includes contributing to architectural decisions, documenting infrastructure, and recommending improvements to support future growth and innovation. Qualifications Strong Cloud Computing and Infrastructure skills, with experience designing, deploying, and managing scalable cloud environments.Proficiency with Linux systems administration, including shell scripting, monitoring, and performance tuning.Knowledge of Databases, including setup, optimization, backup, and integration with cloud-based applications.Experience in Software Development or scripting (e.g., Python, Go, Java, or similar) to support automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.Understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and identity/access management in cloud environments.Familiarity with modern DevOps tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Git) is highly beneficial.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team, communicate clearly, and adapt to a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
