Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Archive

Job Description Are you interested in event-driven architecture and building solutions on a massive scale? Join our Cloud Archive squad to replace a decades-old mainframe system with a modern, cloud-native solution. You will work with current AWS technology whilst ensuring reliable storage and retrieval of billions of documents. What You Will Be Doing You will work in the Cloud Archive squad, a growing team within Customer Capabilities, where 120+ colleagues across Denmark, Lithuania, and India build robust solutions for millions of customers. Your work involves designing and implementing a greenfield archive solution that gradually replaces the existing system, handling billions of documents, and hundreds of millions of requests yearly. You will own the entire lifecycle of cloud-based archive solutions, from design through deployment. Design large-scale data storage and retrieval systems using AWS servicesBuild highly scalable, elastic solutions prioritizing performance and response timesDeploy applications using Java 25, ECS clusters, S3, DynamoDB, and TerraformEnsure compliance with data protection regulations and security requirementsImplement resilient services with failover and disaster recovery capabilitiesCollaborate with product owners and engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions About You Deep Java backend expertise with domain-driven design and clean architectureSolid experience operating services in public cloud environments (AWS preferred)Experience designing highly available services with production reliability focusStrong API design skills applying best practices for secure interactionsPractical CI/CD experience with GitHub Actions and frequent deploymentsComfortable working in regulated environments prioritizing security and complianceCollaborative mindset that prioritizes team successFluent in Danish It would be great if you also have experience with asynchronous communication patterns like Kafka, large-scale systems design, or infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.
