Description

The Junior Interface Developer role at JHC Consulting is a position focused on how our digital environments facilitate deep reading and critical thought. We are currently supporting a partner that is a leading Italian financial institution on a series of governance mandates. As a firm that rejects standard corporate presentations in favor of the written memorandum, we require digital interfaces that prioritize clarity and legibility above all else. This is a full-time, permanent position that is conducted entirely through a remote work model. The compensation is competitive for an entry-level professional and reflects the high standard of work we expect. The Role In this role, your primary task is to support the digital manifestation of our written counsel. We do not produce slide decks. Instead, we provide our clients with detailed, text-heavy reports and memoranda. You will work on the technical systems that deliver these documents to board committees and chief executives. Your day-to-day work involves: Maintaining and improving the client portal where our signed memoranda are hosted and archived. Ensuring that the typography and layout of our digital documents adhere to the highest standards of readability. Collaborating with our analysts to build simple, functional tools that help clients navigate long-form written arguments. Building internal utilities that assist our principals in the drafting and revision process. Applying technical updates to our web-based infrastructure to ensure long-term stability and security. Testing interface changes across different devices to ensure that a CEO can read a memorandum as easily on a tablet as on a desktop. Writing clear technical documentation for every change made to the codebase. What You Bring We are looking for an individual who understands that an interface should never distract from the content it carries. As an entry-level position, we value clarity of thought and a willingness to learn our specific methodology over years of experience. We expect the following: A functional understanding of core web technologies, specifically HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript. An appreciation for typography and the history of the printed word. The ability to write clear, grammatical English, as every member of our firm is a writer first. A disciplined approach to technical work, with an interest in how software serves the needs of governance and strategy. The intellectual maturity to handle sensitive information for a leading Italian institution with total discretion. A preference for simplicity over complex or decorative design features. A basic familiarity with version control systems and how to document technical decisions. How We Work At JHC Consulting, we believe that writing is thinking. Every engagement results in a signed memorandum. This document is the work. We do not participate in the ceremonies of typical management consulting. We do not use filler or jargon. Our principals take individual responsibility for their analysis, and this same level of accountability extends to our technical staff. When you build an interface or update a system, you are expected to be the author of that work, ensuring it meets our standards for rigor and scrutiny before it reaches a client. Working at JHC Consulting We operate as a fully remote firm. This is a permanent policy, not a temporary arrangement. We trust our people to manage their own time and focus on the quality of their output rather than the hours spent at a desk. Because we are small by design, you will have the autonomy to solve problems directly without layers of middle management. We provide a workspace that values quiet, deep work and intellectual honesty. The absence of an office environment means that our communication must be precise and written. You will be expected to contribute to our internal discourse through the same disciplined writing we provide to our clients. Every page we produce ends with a signature. This serves as a record of who conducted the analysis and who stands behind the conclusions. As a Junior Interface Developer, the systems you build will carry these signatures to the highest levels of corporate leadership. We maintain a high standard for every mandate we accept, and we expect our team to approach every task with the understanding that our work may be held on file for years as a definitive record of counsel.
