Description

Synechron is looking for a Senior Java Microservices Developer to design, develop and maintain scalable, event-driven microservices using Java 17+ and Spring Boot. You will work with a modern tech stack, including Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native tools, to deliver high-quality solutions that support a dynamic enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and deploy Java 17+ microservices using Spring Boot architectureImplement event-driven architecture utilising Kafka for real-time data streamingCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust APIs and microservicesMaintain and optimise RDBMS (DB2, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Reactor.js, Typescript)Create and manage cloud-native solutions with Docker, Kubernetes (Red Hat OpenShift), and HarnessWrite and maintain automated tests using Mockito and integrate with CI/CD pipelinesUtilise version control systems like Git and Bitbucket for source managementBuild and manage project dependencies and builds using Gradle and MavenDevelop reporting solutions with JasperReportsConfigure and monitor applications with Kibana and ElasticsearchUse Swagger for API documentation and testingWork within a containerised environment leveraging Load Balancers and other cloud infrastructure componentsParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives, including code reviews, system tuning, and automation Required Skills & Experience Proven experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot MicroservicesStrong knowledge of event-driven architecture with KafkaHands-on experience with relational databases (DB2, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Reactor.js, Typescript)Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes (Red Hat OpenShift), and Harness for container orchestration and CI/CDExperience with build automation tools such as Maven and GradleKnowledge of RESTful API development, documented with SwaggerExperience with Monitoring & Logging tools like Kibana and ElasticsearchStrong understanding of message brokers, load balancers, and cloud infrastructureExperience with testing frameworks, especially MockitoAbility to write clean, scalable, and maintainable codeExcellent problem-solving and communication skills This is a permanent role, working x3 days a week from the Belfast office (Paper Exchange).
