Senior DevOps Engineer

Overview Avel Technologies is looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Bucharest team and support a global technology leader in semiconductor R&D. You will work within an international R&D Software Engineering Services / Application Lifecycle Management environment, helping software engineers build, test, deploy, and release software securely and efficiently. This is a hands-on engineering role combining DevOps, application platform administration, infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and troubleshooting across cloud and on-premise environments used by 10,000+ users. Responsibilities Administer, configure, and continuously improve engineering applications and development platforms, including user requests, incidents, and functional troubleshooting;Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for fast, reliable, and secure software delivery across multiple environments;Automate application provisioning, configuration, and scaling using Configuration as Code (CaC) principles;Deploy, operate, and improve containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes;Ensure the scalability, performance, availability, and reliability of large-scale platforms supporting 10,000+ users;Investigate complex platform and application issues through structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis;Integrate security best practices throughout the software development and deployment lifecycle;Document platform architecture, configurations, and operational procedures to ensure maintainability and operational excellence;Collaborate with international software engineers, system administrators, and cross-functional R&D teams to improve ALM tooling and the overall developer experience.Requirements 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, SysOps, CloudOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or a comparable highly technical role;Hands-on experience administering software engineering applications and platforms in enterprise environments;Strong practical experience with CI/CD and developer tooling such as Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Terraform;Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or Perl;Solid knowledge of Source Code Management systems, particularly Git and Subversion;Practical experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes and Docker;Good understanding of virtualization technologies, networking, and enterprise platform security;Experience working across cloud-based and on-premise infrastructure in large-scale environments;Ability to perform structured incident triage, root-cause analysis, and prioritize technical support activities effectively;Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a rigorous and methodical engineering approach;Clear communication skills, professional working proficiency in English, and the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams.Nice to Have Experience supporting Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) platforms for large enterprise, semiconductor, or software R&D organizations;Knowledge of test automation integration, continuous monitoring platforms, and modern developer tooling;Familiarity with software security, vulnerability management, or security compliance frameworks;What We Offer Direct exposure to modern CI/CD, automation, container orchestration, hybrid infrastructure, and developer platform technologies;A collaborative engineering environment with knowledge-sharing initiatives and technical communities;Meal vouchers as part of your monthly benefits;Private medical insurance, supporting your health and wellbeing;25 days of annual paid leave under a full-time employment contract;Flexible working arrangements, aligned with project requirements and client environments;Access to technical training programs and professional development resources.Ready to embed yourself in the future?
