Who You'll Work With The Activity Apps team builds and operates Nike Run Club (NRC) and Nike Training Club (NTC) - the mobile experiences that move millions of Nike athletes through runs, workouts, training plans, and guided coaching every day. As a Software Engineer 2 on iOS, you'll be a growing IC on a feature squad, partnering daily with senior iOS engineers, Android peers, backend engineers, Product, Design, and QA. This role reports to an Engineering Manager for Activity Apps and works alongside Principal and Lead engineers who will invest in your growth. Who We Are Looking For Nike is seeking a Software Engineer 2 on iOS who has shipped in a real consumer app, is comfortable in modern iOS, and is ready to grow into more complex ownership. You'll take on well-scoped features and pieces of larger initiatives, write clean and testable Swift, and lean into the mentorship the team offers. The ideal candidate cares about craft, moves fast without cutting corners, and is curious about how the app actually behaves in an athlete's hand. What You Bring 2+ years of professional iOS development experience shipping consumer-facing appsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; will accept any suitable combination of education, experience and trainingProficiency in Swift and SwiftUI (and comfort with UIKit where it still lives); working knowledge of modern concurrency (async/await, Combine)Understanding of iOS architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Composable/TCA) and how features are structured in a modularized codebase (SPM, frameworks)Familiarity with the iOS frameworks activity apps rely on - Core Location, Core Motion, background modes, AVFoundation / audio, push - and willingness to go deep in the areas you ownComfort consuming REST/GraphQL APIs and handling offline, low-bandwidth, and error states gracefullyExperience writing unit and UI tests (XCTest, snapshot testing, XCUITest)Familiarity with Xcode, Fastlane, CI/CD, and the App Store release processStrong debugging habits and an interest in growing them - Instruments profiling, memory analysis, crash triageCollaborative mindset; clear communicator in code review, design discussion, and written docsExperience with Spec Driven Development leveraging LLM coding agents and autonomous build and review loops What You'll Work On You'll build features in NRC or NTC on iOS alongside more senior engineers who will help you take on progressively more complex work. Implement features in the NRC or NTC iOS app - from spec through shipped release with guidance from senior engineers on the squadOwn the iOS side of well-scoped feature work and contribute pieces of larger, cross-platform initiativesWrite clean, testable, idiomatic Swift and uphold the team's quality bar in code reviewContribute to the workout session stack on iOS and adjacent surfaces (sensors, background execution, storage, upload) as you build depth in this areaInstrument features for observability and experimentation; learn from production behavior and iterateParticipate in on-call rotation for app stability; help triage crashes and consumer-reported issues on iOSLearn and adopt iOS best practices and platform updates that improve the athlete experienceAdopt AI-native development practices on the iOS team - internal AI tooling, code assistance, evaluation harnesses - and share what's working Position Location & Schedule This position is based at our incredibly beautiful worldwide campus headquarters location in Beaverton, Oregon. You'll work a "4/1 hybrid" schedule - Mondays - Thursdays are in the office and it's optional if you'd like to work Fridays from the Nike campus office or your home office.
