Who We’re Looking For
Toyota Financial Services is seeking a Software Engineer who is eager to build, learn, and grow within our dealer and consumer digital platforms.
This role focuses on delivering reliable backend services and frontend applications under the guidance of senior engineers, while developing strong fundamentals in cloud-native and distributed systems.
The ideal candidate is curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow technical depth while contributing to real-world, production-grade systems that support Toyota’s digital and financial journeys.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Software Engineer, you will:
Implement features and services using established design and coding patternsDevelop and enhance RESTful APIs used by dealer and consumer applicationsBuild UI components using modern frontend frameworksWrite clean, testable, and maintainable code aligned with team standardsParticipate in code reviews, testing, and production support activitiesCollaborate with senior engineers to understand system design and architecture decisionsSupport Toyota digital workflows such as VDP, PreQual, and pricing requestsContinuously grow skills in cloud platforms, microservices, distributed systems, and engineering tools
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field2+ years of software development experience (or equivalent practical experience)Core development skills in Java and Spring BootExperience building and enhancing REST APIs for enterprise applicationsBasic exposure to AWS, including containers, deployments, and loggingFrontend development experience with React or similar frameworksUnderstanding of microservices and cloud-native development conceptsExperience writing unit and integration tests aligned with quality standardsFamiliarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise development practicesWillingness to learn domain concepts related to financial services and automotive platforms
Technical Skills – UI
Builds UI components under guidance using React or similar frameworksUnderstands basic UI-to-API interaction patternsFixes UI defects related to data binding and API responses
Technical Skills – Data
Understands basic request/response data modelsWrites code that handles data safely and correctlyLearns how data flows through services, APIs, and event-driven systems
Added Bonus If You Have
Experience working on dealer-centric or consumer-facing digital applicationsExposure to event-driven architectures or messaging systemsFamiliarity with observability tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, or DynatraceInterest in distributed systems, resiliency, and platform engineeringExperience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
