The Role Neo4j’s managed cloud offering, Aura, brings the power of graph databases to the cloud. We’re expanding our Aura Infrastructure team and looking for an ambitious Engineer to join us. Our team combines experience in pure software development and infrastructure engineering, so we’re interested in speaking to candidates from both an operational and development background. Working with Cloud Infrastructure “Provide the core infrastructure that Aura is running on” Within the Aura Infrastructure team, the focus and responsibility is to design, build, manage and improve the core Cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure and its components. On this team, you will have a high influence on defining and refining the underlying cloud infrastructure such as cloud networking, compute, storage, logging and much more across multiple CSPs. We are managing more than 800 Kubernetes clusters in production today, and this core infrastructure continuously needs to be improved and maintained. We use a mix of custom Kubernetes operators, open-source tooling, and infrastructure as code daily to maintain the Neo4j Aura infrastructure. If you are interested in building a robust production system at scale to support Neo4j’s managed graph platform, then this role is for you. What You Will Do Design, develop and implement processes, tools and documentation to improve the core cloud infrastructure for Neo4j’s managed graph platform..Collaborate with teammates, peers across other teams and Product Managers to understand, prioritise and build features for both internal and external use.Handle day-to-day operations of the infrastructure.Build resilient and high-availability cloud infrastructure on GCP, AWS and Azure.Investigate operational issues across Kubernetes, cloud networking, compute, storage and logging, and develop automated solutions that prevent them from recurring.Experience working in a 24/7/365 service environment.Technologies you’ll be working on include managed Kubernetes (GKE, EKS, AKS), compute (Cluster Autoscaler, Karpenter, GCP Custom Compute Classes), cloud networking and storage (CSI drivers), logging infrastructure (FluentBit, Google Cloud Logging) and security. What You’ll Need Expertise in one or more CSP; AWS, GCP, Azure.Experience building production software projects in Go, or transferable experience in a similar language.Experience using Kubernetes in production.Knowledge and understanding of the basic built-in Kubernetes resources such as Pods, Deployments, DaemonSets.Knowledge of running stateful workloads using StatefulSets, PVC and PVs.Knowledge around the operator pattern in Kubernetes and how to extend the Kubernetes API through Custom Resources.Infrastructure as Code.Experience using IaaC, such as Terraform, Crossplane, Config Connector, AWS Controllers for Kubernetes and Azure Service Operator.Experience with VMs, Linux, understand networking and storage.
