Job Description
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
Key Skillset Summary
React proficiency demonstrated through clear, well-built professional experience.
TypeScript or strong JavaScript fundamentals with a clear understanding of type safety and why it matters in a team codebase Python proficiency: able to write backend services, REST APIs, and data manipulation scripts without significant support SQL working knowledge: able to query, filter, join, and aggregate data independently — including window functions and CTEs Ability to read a wireframe and translate it into working front-end code with attention to detail and interaction fidelity Clear communicator: able to ask for what you need, flag blockers early, and explain a technical decision in plain terms
Tech Stack: Core Front-End
React: components, hooks, props, state — able to build from scratch without a tutorial open TypeScript / JavaScript: type annotations, async patterns, browser fundamentals CSS: layout, responsive design, basic animation — comfort translating a design into code Testing: unit tests with Jest or equivalent; understanding of why tests exist, not just how to write them
Design & Prototyping
Figma: able to read and navigate design files; bonus if you have created or annotated them Streamlit: rapid prototyping of data-backed surfaces and internal tooling Storybook: component documentation and isolated development (familiarity sufficient)
Backend & Data
Python: FastAPI, Flask, or equivalent for building REST APIs and backend services SQL: SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, window functions, subqueries — comfortable querying a data warehouse independently REST API design: data contracts, request/response handling, error patterns Basic data pipeline awareness: able to read and understand how data flows from source to surface
Tooling & Environment
Git: branching, pull requests, code review workflow in a team environment Cloud familiarity: GCP, AWS, or Azure CI/CD basics: able to run tests, read a build pipeline, and understand deployment concepts
Nice To Have Skills
Familiarity with Figma: able to open a design file, understand layout and component structure, and identify what has changed between versions Streamlit experience: built an internal tool, data app, or prototype for a class project or personal use Storybook or component documentation experience Mulesfot, FastAPI, Flask, or equivalent: built and deployed a backend service, even in a class or personal project context Experience with cloud platforms: GCP, AWS, or Azure — even at a student or free-tier level Exposure to databases beyond SQL: document stores, key-value stores, or basic data warehouse concepts Exposure to design systems, component libraries, or any structured approach to front-end consistency
Roles & Responsibilities
UI Development with full stack foundation
Full-Stack Feature Ownership Work seamlessly across the entire technology stack with a primary focus on React on the front end while managing Python-based backend services, APIs, and data integrations.
Own the entire lifecycle of what you ship across the full surface area of your work.
Build frontend interfaces, write corresponding backend endpoints, and collaborate closely with data scientists to understand and render model outputs.
Harden, orchestrate, and convert agentic output into enterprise-grade UI applications optimized for maximum security, usability, and performance.
Functional Prototyping Develop working, functional prototypes using real, interactive code rather than static, click-through designs.
Iterate rapidly to enable the team and end-users to interact with features early, allowing for quick directional shifts.
Prioritize speed to close the gap between design and functionality, validating features quickly before committing to full-fidelity production.
Component Library Contribution Contribute reusable components to a shared library that powers the entire portfolio of intelligence products.
Learn, apply, and maintain strict design and coding conventions across the shared library.
Document your work thoroughly and write robust tests to ensure all shared components are safe and stable for reuse.
Cultivate a strong architectural sense of what features belong in a shared library versus what should remain product-specific.
Design Collaboration Partner directly with designers to read wireframes precisely, ask critical questions early, and identify implementation constraints before they lead to rework.
Actively participate in design reviews, user feedback sessions, and strategic product decisions.
Formulate, maintain, and clearly communicate a strong, informed point of view on product design and user experience.
Backend Services & Data Integration Build and maintain the backend services and API layers that connect data pipelines, scoring models, and structured data assets to front-end surfaces.
Write robust endpoints, define and manage clear data contracts, and proactively handle complex edge cases to elevate prototypes to dependable, field-ready systems.
Collaborate closely with data scientists and platform engineers to comprehend data structures and guarantee accurate frontend presentation.
