Application Developer

Optomi, in partnership with a government organization is seeking an Application Developer. This Application Developer will join a high performing IT team that values strong communication, continuous improvement, and ownership. This Application Developer will have 5+ years of experience and be responsible for reviewing and analyzing the organization’s business needs, conferring with users to evaluate requirements, discussing solutions, and developing plans of approach, including project completion time estimates. Additionally, this Application Developer will design, develop, and maintain integrations between diverse systems and platforms, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange. Responsibilities of the Right Candidate: Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using React, C#, .NET APIs, and Python.Build and support integrations between internal and external systems through scalable APIs and automation solutions.Develop Python scripts and Airflow workflows to automate scheduling, data processing, and operational tasks.Evaluate and modernize legacy COBOL applications by refactoring functionality into modern technologies such as C# and Python.Partner with business users and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, estimate solutions, document integrations, and deliver high-quality software. Experience of the Right Candidate: 5+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in C#, .NET, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.Experience developing Python applications or automation solutions, with a willingness and ability to expand Python expertise as needed.Proven experience building REST APIs, system integrations, and scalable full-stack web applications.Strong understanding of software modernization efforts, including migrating or refactoring legacy applications into modern technology stacks.A proactive, collaborative engineer who communicates effectively, takes ownership of their work, and is eager to learn new technologies while supporting teammates across the organization.
