WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
This position is on a team responsible for the support and development of the enterprise monitoring systems used within RBC.
Reporting to the manager of the Monitoring group the incumbent will drive monitoring solutions and deliver to the IT support teams.
As a senior post a high level of professionalism, industry knowledge and drive is required to ensure the service provided matches the businesses needs.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Provide subject matter expertise to RBC application teamsLeverage enterprise monitoring capabilitiesOnboard clients to monitoring and event management systemsProvide reactive and proactive alarms to support teamsReduce incidents through proactive measuresSupport a self-serve customer experienceImplement automated and intuitive systemsCreating and maintaining technical documentation, including user guides, troubleshooting procedures, and system documentation.
Staying up-to-date on emerging technologies and industry trends to identify new opportunities for improvement and innovation.
Diagnosing and resolving technical issues for users, providing guidance and training as needed.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Must have:
Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written).Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment.Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPointKnowledge of Microsoft and Linux/Unix Operating systems would be a strong asset.Knowledge of scripting languages and tools, including Python, GitHub, SQL, JavaScript, and web-related technologies such as HTML and CSS.Experience working with either one of the tools: Dynatrace, PagerDuty or Cache Point
