Do you enjoy translating ambitious yacht designs into technically sound and buildable structures? For a specialist engineering and design company active within the superyacht industry, we are looking for an experienced Construction Engineer / Structural Engineer. In this role, you work on the structural engineering of high-end yachts and other maritime projects, from the design phase through to detailed technical development. You will be responsible for construction drawings, structural arrangements and calculations, ensuring that the vessel meets applicable regulations, classification requirements and client specifications. The organisation You will join an independent and multidisciplinary engineering organisation specialising in yacht design, naval architecture and marine engineering. The company works on both new-build and refit projects and supports the development of complex motor and sailing yachts. Engineers, naval architects and designers work closely together throughout the design and engineering process. Because the organisation is relatively compact, you are closely involved in projects and work directly with specialists from different disciplines. What will you be doing? As a Construction Engineer, your main focus is the structural design and engineering of yachts. You translate yacht designs into technically feasible structural solutions and develop the drawings, arrangements and calculations required for construction. Because every yacht is different, you will work on custom-engineered solutions rather than repetitive standard products. Your responsibilities include: Preparing and developing construction drawings and structural arrangements;Performing and supporting structural calculations;Translating design requirements into technically feasible structural solutions;Ensuring designs comply with applicable statutory, non-statutory and client requirements;Taking classification requirements into account throughout the engineering process;Coordinating structural solutions with other engineering disciplines;Working closely with naval architects, engineers and designers;Contributing throughout the wider design and engineering process;Supporting technically challenging new-build and refit projects. What are we looking for? We are looking for an engineer with a solid technical foundation and a strong interest in ship or yacht construction. You have: At least 3 years of relevant engineering experience;Experience with construction drawings, structural arrangements and engineering calculations;A background in yacht building, shipbuilding, naval architecture or maritime engineering;The ability to translate a design into a technically feasible structural solution;An understanding of technical regulations and classification requirements;A precise and structured approach to engineering;The ability to work effectively with specialists from different disciplines;Full professional proficiency in English. Proficiency in Dutch is a strong advantage.
