Position: DevOps Solution Engineer with VM/Apps Deployment/GitHub/Java Location: 3days a Month Onsite and Remote - Toronto ON (Need Locals) Visa Status: Independent Consultant Duration: 6+ Months (Will be a Long Term Contract or CTH) Please share a copy of your State ID or Driver's License (DL) for the quick interview. Requirement: THE MANAGER WANTS CANDIDATES WITH A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF JAVA CODE. THEY ARE IMPLEMENTIN AI IN EVERY FACET OF THE CI/CD DEPLOYMANT PROCESS SO THE CANDIDATE NEEDS TO BEABLE TO AT LEAST READ OR CHECK CODE. IF THE CANDIDATES IS JUST CREATING PIPELINES ALL DAY, THEY PROBABLY WON’T BE RIGHT. THIS POSITION IS ALL ABOUT: VM DEPLOYMENT – TOP REQUIREMENT GITOPS GITHUB ACTIONS JAVA AZURE/AWS TOP PRIORITY: CANDIDATES NEED TO HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH GitHub Actions – specifically with VM deployment AND EITHER DEPLOYING JAVA OR .NET APPLICATIONS. This is much more focused on application deployment than cloud engineering. THIS IS A DEAL NEXT WEEK; WE JUST NEED THE RIGHT CANDIDATE. Requirement Notes: We need two Mid to senior level (8+ years) DevOps engineers with good experience in CI/CD (AWS, AZURE or GCP is fine) pipeline creation. Industry experience does not matter but banking is a plus. As a solution engineer, you will be responsible for supporting application teams in all their DevOps needs and implementation. You will be working directly with the application teams to guide, troubleshoot and resolve any issues in the CICD pipeline. You will also be involved with major migration initiative working directly with application teams. ***** Hands-on with Java and Python and know how to build and deploy apps written in these languages. They don’t necessarily need to know how to write JS or C# but need to know how to build and deploy these type of apps. Azure is one of our supported platforms and it’s a nice to know. – CANDIDATES NEED TO HAVE EXPERIENCE DEPLOYING JAVA, PYTHON AND/OR .NET APPLICATIONS. Job Description: What is the opportunity? GitHub Actions – specifically with VM As a solution engineer, you will be responsible for supporting application teams in all their DevOps needs and implementation. You will be working directly with the application teams to guide, troubleshoot and resolve any issues in the CICD pipeline. You will also be involved with major migration initiative working directly with application teams. What will you do? Support app teams to migrate from Jenkins, RLM or manual deployment to GitHub Actions. Troubleshoot and resolve any DevOps related issues · Create and Debug CI CD pipeline stages writing various stages Implement any automation or configuration needed to ensure successful integration Write POM and Settings from scratch and working with various code bases Set up GitHub Actions and workflow details, execution and runners What do you need to succeed? Must-Have: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Diploma in IT with equivalent IT experience Hands on Experience of CICD pipeline Creating and Debugging CI CD pipeline stages Writing various stages Working with various code bases Complete Understanding Maven – Concept of POM, SuperPOM Write POM from scratch. Write Settings from scratch Understand and execute builds for project types NPM Understand and execute builds for project types PyPi about npm commands .NET – dotnet and msbuild GitHub Actions – Their workflow details and execution, runners Hands on Experience of tools such as: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitOps, Artifactory, SonarQube, Teraform and UCD, Ansible Jenkins Build, Multibranch Pipelines, Maven Pipelines Debugging Jenkins Failures Configuration of SonarQube Their purpose and configuration Experience on CD tools like Terraform, UCD Configuration and deployment tools like Ansible Understanding and hands on experience on: Docker and Containerization – Writing Dockerfiles, Docker commands Kubernetes Clusters and their management Concept of Deployment, Namespaces, PV/PVC in K8s Helm charts and their purpose Deployment using Kubernetes – Helm and Kubectl Troubleshooting Kubernetes events, POD failures, logs, nodes Nice to Have Skills and Experience: Hands on Experience of CICD pipeline with a complete understanding of NPM or Nugut Writing Declarative pipelines using Groovy Excellent Communication Skills Agile Tools like JIRA, ServiceNow Scripting Experience – Groovy, Shell, Python Experience required on a resume and for submission: 1.
