Senior AI Software Engineer A leading global provider of healthcare software solutions is looking for an experienced engineer to join the team in Heidelberg. This role focuses on developing intelligent applications that improve medical workflows and patient care across a diverse international portfolio. You will work within a dynamic environment to build cloud-native services and integrate advanced machine learning capabilities into essential health-tech products. What you'll be doing • Develop and operate modern web applications across a diverse SaaS portfolio using frontend, backend, and DevOps layers. • Integrate native AI features and agentic experiences into products using LLMs, retrieval techniques, and structured workflows. • Design and maintain cloud-native services with a focus on reliability, security, and high developer productivity. • Collaborate with product management and UX teams to establish best practices for agentic applications and engineering quality. • Analyze healthcare workflows to ensure technical solutions deliver measurable outcomes for medical professionals and patients. What we're looking for • Extensive senior-level experience in full-stack engineering with deep knowledge of React, Angular, Java Spring Boot, or Python. • Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field with a strong academic record. • Practical experience with cloud-native technologies including Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, and ArgoCD. • Proven track record of implementing AI tools and designing AI pipelines, ideally using Azure OpenAI, Anthropic SDK, or similar frameworks. • Professional fluency in both German and English with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to innovation.
