Role: Senior Cloud Platform Engineer We're looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to help build our cloud foundation and enablement capability in a fintech environment. Our technology organization is heavily on-premise today, and we're establishing GCP as our cloud platform — which means this role shapes how the whole organization adopts it, from the landing zone and guardrails to the reference patterns application teams build on. This is hands-on enablement, not abstract architecture: expect roughly 60% of your time designing, building, and validating patterns yourself, and 40% working directly with application teams on adoption, trade-offs, and troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities Design reusable cloud deployment patterns, reference architectures, and cookbooks that let application teams adopt cloud-native solutions consistently.Work hands-on in GCP to validate those patterns, build working examples, and troubleshoot issues across the application, platform, and infrastructure layers.Advise application teams on cloud-native design: deployment models, scalability, resilience, security, and cost awareness.Contribute to the cloud foundation: landing zone evolution, guardrails, identity, networking, and observability standards.Partner with DevOps, infrastructure, application teams, and external providers to standardize cloud adoption practices.Apply AI/LLM assistants (e.g., Claude, Codex) hands-on to accelerate prototyping, design reviews, troubleshooting, and documentation, and contribute reusable prompts and checklists to shared engineering standards. Required Experience and Skills Deep hands-on experience in cloud, platform, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering, including running GCP workloads in enterprise, production, or regulated environments.A track record of designing reusable patterns, reference architectures, or templates that multiple application teams have actually adopted — grounded in cloud-native fundamentals such as scalability, resilience, security, and cost management.Solid working coverage across most of the core GCP service areas: compute (Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Functions), data and messaging (Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub), security and identity (IAM, KMS, Secret Manager, Security Command Center), observability (Cloud Logging, Cloud Monitoring), and networking (VPC).Strong infrastructure-as-code and automation skills — Terraform or OpenTofu, Helm, Ansible, Python or Bash — with Git-based delivery, CI/CD, and containers as everyday practice.Demonstrated use of AI/LLM tools to deliver practical engineering outcomes such as faster prototyping, better documentation, or higher-quality design reviews, with sound judgment on validating outputs, protecting confidential information, and keeping human ownership of architecture and implementation decisions. Nice to Have Experience in fintech, banking, payments, trading, or another regulated environment.Exposure to AWS, Azure, private cloud, or hybrid cloud environments.Depth in Kubernetes, service mesh, event-driven architectures, or API management.Familiarity with policy-as-code, compliance frameworks, audit requirements, or software supply chain security.Development background in a strongly typed language such as Java, Go, C#, Kotlin, or TypeScript.Experience creating internal developer documentation, platform playbooks, golden paths, or self-service cloud templates. Qualifications Typically 5+ years in cloud engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure, solution architecture, or software engineering, with the depth and judgment expected of a senior engineer.A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is beneficial; equivalent practical experience is equally valued.Relevant cloud certifications are a plus, but not mandatory. Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a hands-on cloud engineer with a strong platform and enablement mindset: someone who can translate cloud capabilities into practical patterns that other teams genuinely adopt, and who works within enterprise constraints — security, governance, networking, cost, operational support — rather than designing around them. They validate their own patterns through implementation, and they guide teams through trade-offs rather than handing over abstract architecture diagrams. Work Arrangement Hybrid role based in Warsaw, with three days per week in the office.Offered as a permanent contract (Umowa o Pracę – UoP)
