This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer (C# .NET) based in Canada. This is an opportunity to build and evolve high-value, cloud-native software components that support a large-scale digital marketplace. You’ll work primarily with .NET Core to design scalable APIs and contribute to reliable, high-performance applications. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, architecture discussions, testing, and continuous improvement. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams while helping shape core technology used across critical business capabilities. The environment emphasizes engineering quality, observability, performance, knowledge sharing, and modern cloud practices. You’ll have opportunities to work with AWS, Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, PostgreSQL, and other contemporary technologies. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, mentoring peers, and continuously improving how software is built. Accountabilities Design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable, cloud-native APIs and core application components using .NET Core and C#.Continuously improve core software offerings, focusing on reliability, scalability, maintainability, performance, and overall product quality.Lead and contribute to technical discussions covering software architecture, application design, testing strategies, and engineering best practices.Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and technology teams to construct and maintain high-value system components across multiple technology stacks.Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while maintaining strong unit and functional test coverage.Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback that improves code quality and engineering standards.Apply telemetry, monitoring, and modern application performance management practices to identify bottlenecks and improve system performance.Troubleshoot complex application and production issues and contribute to sustainable technical solutions.Support continuous improvement of development methodologies, engineering processes, and software delivery practices.Mentor and support other engineers by sharing technical knowledge, conducting thoughtful code reviews, and contributing to a strong engineering culture. Requirements 5+ years of professional experience building scalable, cloud-native APIs and applications using .NET and C#.University degree or advanced diploma in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.Strong understanding of application development principles, software architecture, and modern development and testing methodologies.Hands-on experience with .NET Core and building production-grade APIs and services.Experience with telemetry, observability, and application performance tuning using modern APM and monitoring tools.Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a detail-oriented approach to software quality and reliability.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to lead technical discussions and work effectively across teams.Demonstrated willingness to learn, challenge existing approaches, and continuously improve technical and development practices.Experience mentoring engineers, participating in code reviews, and providing technical leadership is highly valued.Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and OpenTelemetry is a strong advantage.Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Java or Kotlin-based cloud-native APIs, and Azure Cloud Services is a plus.
