Description

Mandora is looking for a full-stack developer who wants to build AI that actually does the accounting — for Norway's smallest businesses and the accountants who serve them. We're building Taki, an AI-powered accounting platform where every number has to hold up in front of a customer, an accountant and the tax authorities. We need someone who can take an idea from a conversation to something real in production, across the whole stack. Are you curious, driven, and eager to build something that matters with a team? We'd love to talk. About Mandora We're a small, tight-knit team, owned by a large Norwegian company. That gives you startup speed and real impact, but with solid financial backing behind you. We're based in central Oslo and like being in the office together, because that's where the energy and the good discussions happen. Together we're building an autonomous accounting system for the smallest businesses and the accountants who serve them, combining the latest AI technology with seamless workflows. Our working language is English. About the role You own features end to end — from the idea, through the API and the data model, to what the customer actually sees and trusts. You'll work on creating AI agents and the tools and workflows around them. You’ll work across TypeScript, React/Next.js, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis and cloud infrastructure, together with the CTO, the product manager and the rest of the team. We're a small team, so you'll have a real say in how we build and run things, not just in what gets built. And since we're growing, expect to pitch in wherever it's needed. What you'll do Product experiences: build and improve what small business owners and accountants actually use, day in and day outAPIs and integrations: develop backend services and integrations with the systems Norwegian accounting runs onAI features that hold up: design and ship practical, reliable AI-powered workflows (LLM APIs, tool calling, streaming, agent flows) where "usually right" is not good enoughReliability and performance: help make the product fast and predictable, and the codebase a good place to workFrom idea to production: work closely with product, engineering and accounting to take ideas all the way out to customers Who we're looking for You are strong in TypeScript, React and Node.js, and move comfortably between frontend and backendYou have production experience with Next.js and Express, and know how to structure an application in bothYou have hands-on AI/LLM experience; LLM APIs, tool calling, streaming, prompting or agent workflowsYou take ownership of features end to end, from first sketch to what's liveYou bring a curious, proactive approach to new technology Nice to have Cloud infrastructure, Docker, Terraform and CI/CD experienceExperience with RedisExperience from fintech or accounting (accounting systems, banking, PSD2 and the like) Personal qualities Proactive, curious, and motivated to build something together with othersTakes ownership, shares knowledge, and is comfortable when not everything is fully defined yetCares about the details; in accounting, "close enough" is simply wrongSelf-directed and flexible, and a strong team player who thrives at a high pace with short decision-making paths Why Mandora? Real ownership: you build the product customers use, and shape how it works; you're not maintaining someone else's backlogThe front line of AI: you work hands-on with modern LLMs in a product that's actually in production, not a pilotStartup, without the risk: impact and speed, with solid financial backing behind youA domain worth learning: accounting is genuinely hard and genuinely unautomated; and you'll have an authorised accountant right next to you to learn it fromA small, strong team: short decision-making paths, a high pace, and colleagues who care about the craft Interested? Please don't write us a cover letter. Instead, tell us about something you've built with AI, or something you've built that has AI in it. It can be from work, a side project, or something you put together over a weekend; we care about what you actually did, not how big it was. Half a page is plenty. Tell us: What you built, and what the AI part actually doesWhat went wrong, and what you changed as a resultWhat you'd do differently, if you built the same thing again today Links, repos or demos are very welcome. Feel free to use AI to help you write it; we're far more interested in what you built than in your prose. Please add this to your CV when applying, or send this, together with your CV, to johanne.hagelin@mandora.no Not sure whether you tick every box? Apply anyway; we care more about drive and attitude than a perfect checklist. At Mandora we believe that diverse perspectives make the product better. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of background, and are happy to make accommodations along the way. Location: Central Oslo (office-first, hybrid possible) Employment: Permanent, full-time (100%) Start date by agreement Questions? Reach out to Johanne Hagelin / johanne.hagelin@mandora.no
