Senior Infrastructure Engineer – DevOps 📍 Japan | Remote Our client is searching for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a high-growth SaaS company expanding rapidly in the Japanese market. This is a critical engineering role focused on building, scaling, and automating the cloud infrastructure that powers a globally distributed platform — giving you the opportunity to work on systems that operate across multiple regions and serve customers worldwide. SUMMARY: Senior DevOps/Infrastructure role responsible for managing and evolving multi-cloud, multi-region SaaS environments across the Americas, Europe, and Asia, with a strong focus on automation and zero-touch deliveryHands-on technical role working with modern cloud-native tooling to ensure platform stability, availability, and performance at global scale for customers undergoing digital transformationRemote position based in Japan; business-level Japanese and English required, with on-call rotation responsibilities RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage and evolve multi-cloud, multi-region SaaS environments including Kubernetes clusters across multiple geographies, architecting solutions that prioritize customer availability, stability, and performance at scaleDrive continuous improvement of CI/CD infrastructure toward fully automated, zero-touch software delivery, developing internal tooling and automation that eliminates toil and accelerates development velocityEstablish and maintain observability standards including metrics, alerting, logging, and distributed tracing across all cloud environments, proactively identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks before customer impact occursLead incident response efforts and conduct thorough root cause analysis, contributing to a culture of engineering excellence through strong documentation and process refinementPartner closely with application engineering teams to provide infrastructure guidance throughout the development lifecycle and contribute to on-call rotation REQUIREMENTS: 5–7+ years of hands-on DevOps or Infrastructure Engineering experience with a proven track record managing production cloud environments at scaleStrong proficiency with modern cloud infrastructure technologies including Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Ansible, and major cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure)Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-grade data systems including NoSQL/SQL databases, key/value stores, and messaging platforms (AMQP, MQTT, etc.)Solid understanding of observability tooling (Prometheus, Mimir, Thanos, Grafana) and SRE best practices in high-growth SaaS environmentsWorking knowledge of infrastructure-focused programming or scripting languages such as Go, TypeScript, Python, or BashBusiness-level Japanese and English required Nice to Have: Background in manufacturing technology or industrial operations platformsExperience in collaborative, fast-paced startup or scale-up environmentsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
