Department: Technology Location: Chicago, IL Description At Wolverine Trading we’re looking for a Low-Level C++ Software Engineer to work at the intersection of hardware and software. Your focus will be on improving the performance of our critical and ultra-low latency trading systems, working on all parts of the trading systems stack. What You’ll Do Develop and improve performance-critical C++ applications, ensuring ultra-low latency and high throughputCollaborate with FPGA engineers, hardware specialists, and systems teams to push performance boundariesAnalyze and resolve real-time system issues, improving the reliability and stability of our trading platformsBuild tools to monitor, profile, and analyze the performance of systems at every level What We’re Looking For Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalentA minimum of 2+ years of professional C++ experience with a focus on high-performance applicationsStrong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and modern C++ practices (C++17/20)Experience and aptitude in multi-threaded programming and performance tuningAbility to analyze experimental results and optimize system performanceEffective communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage both technical and non-technical stakeholdersMost importantly: a drive to make things better Why Join Us Our flat organizational structure promotes teamwork across the Firm and offers easy access to senior staff.
