About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic IT team.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and expanding our existing infrastructure with a focus on automation, continuous delivery, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
Your expertise will directly impact the stability, security, and performance of our web applications, ensuring seamless deployment cycles and reliable operation.
As a vital link between development and operations, you will collaborate closely with software developers and system administrators to reduce deployment times and improve overall system resilience.
Your role will also involve monitoring ongoing operations, managing patching and vulnerability mitigation processes, and implementing best practices for web application security and performance.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable qualification gained through extensive professional experience.
Proven experience with DevOps and CI/CD concepts, particularly with tools such as GitLab, GitLab CI, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, is essential.
Experience with Java-based web applications, configuring Nginx as a reverse proxy/load balancer, and working with relational databases like Oracle and PostgreSQL will be advantageous.
Proficiency in Linux environments, container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and scripting languages like Python and Bash is required.
Additionally, knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as CheckMK and Splunk, along with a proactive attitude towards learning new technologies, will set you apart.
Strong analytical skills, a reliable and goal-oriented work ethic, and excellent communication skills in German and English are also necessary.

Responsibilities
Manage and enhance existing infrastructure by applying DevOps automation strategies and Infrastructure-as-Code principles, ensuring high availability and scalability of web applications.Oversee the continuous integration and delivery pipelines, including maintaining and improving GitLab CI/CD processes and deployment procedures.Collaborate closely with software developers to streamline development-to-production workflows, reducing turnaround times and increasing deployment reliability.Monitor the operational status of web applications, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime.Lead patch management and vulnerability mitigation efforts, ensuring all components are secure and compliant with organizational standards.Implement and maintain monitoring and logging solutions to track system performance and security metrics.Participate in planning and executing infrastructure upgrades, security enhancements, and technology evaluations.
