Site Reliability Engineer (Software)

Job title: Site Reliability Engineer Client: Elite FinTech Firm - tech focused run by passionate Computer Scientists Salary: $1,900,000 + Industry Leading Bonus A leading global investment firm is looking to grow its Site Reliability Engineering function across multiple offices. The firm operates at significant scale within fast-moving financial markets, and this team plays a central role in keeping mission-critical trading and investment infrastructure reliable, performant, and resilient. This is a hands-on engineering role combining software and systems expertise. SREs here work across the full lifecycle of production systems from early-stage support during development through to steady-state operation partnering closely with engineering and investment teams to build applications for stability from the outset. Responsibilities: Own the reliability, availability, and performance of applications in productionAutomate repetitive operational work and resolve recurring systemic issuesConduct root cause analysis and deliver new engineering solutions to complex technical problemsLead incident management, including both immediate resolution and longer-term preventative fixesPromote SRE best practices and standards across other engineering teamsUnderstand application behaviour end-to-end, including its business context Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field, or equivalent experienceProficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python preferred)Experience with modern software development tooling and practices (testing, source control, CI/CD, build systems)SQL/database experience is advantageousWeb UI experience (JavaScript, CSS, React) is a plusStrong written and verbal communication skillsAdaptable, entrepreneurial mindset with a genuine interest in solving hard technical problems Desirable: Networking experience (Low latency), prior HFT experience, Extracurricular passion projects!
