Senior .NET Engineer

Komodo Consulting is a technology and strategy firm specializing in Digital Transformation. Operating in Portugal and Poland, we provide IT Consulting & Nearshore services. We support both public and private sector organizations through two main areas: Consulting — with a focus on strategy, investment analysis, and digital process improvement; IT Team Augmentation — helping clients scale and strengthen their tech teams. The Project We are seeking a Senior .NET Engineer to work on a project for a Technology Company. You will have the following responsibilities: Design and implement high-performance microservices using .NET 8, with a focus on scalability and clean architecture;Build and refine asynchronous, event-driven workflows using AWS SNS/SQS, ensuring data consistency and system resilience;Lead the technical integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) into core applications, bridging .NET backends with Python-based AI logic;Collaborate on the design and development of high-throughput data pipelines using AWS Data Firehose and Data Streams for real-time processing;Uphold high code quality standards through unit and integration testing using xUnit and WireMock;Work closely with SRE teams to deploy services via GitHub Actions and manage cloud infrastructure through Terraform;Leverage AI-assisted tooling such as GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT to accelerate delivery while maintaining rigorous oversight of code security and efficiency. You need to have the following skills/experience: Deep expertise in C# and .NET Core / .NET 8, including strong knowledge of the framework's internals;Hands-on experience building cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services, including SNS, SQS, S3, and ECS;Strong understanding of Event-Driven Architecture and distributed systems patterns such as Pub/Sub, Competing Consumers, and Idempotency;Proven experience with Redis or Valkey for caching, state management, and performance optimization;Experience or demonstrable interest in working with LLMs and Python, including RAG systems or OpenAI/Anthropic API integrations;A test-first mindset with solid experience in unit and integration testing practices;Familiarity with DevOps tooling including Docker, GitHub Actions, and Terraform;English proficiency at B2 level or above, with confidence communicating and collaborating in a fully English-speaking work environment. Location Hybrid, Lisbon (2x a week at the office)
