Software Engineer – Build Platform Hybrid in London | Competitive Salary for Tier 1 Trading Firm About the Opportunity We're partnered with a leading global technology-driven trading firm that is investing heavily in its Developer Experience and Engineering Productivity function. This team is responsible for building the internal platforms, tooling, and infrastructure that enable hundreds of engineers to develop, test, and deploy software efficiently. As software delivery speed is a key competitive advantage for the business, the Build Platform team sits at the centre of the engineering organisation, owning the systems that every engineer relies on daily. The Role As a Software Engineer within the Build Platform team, you'll help shape the future of software development across the organisation by building modern tooling, scalable build systems, and automated workflows that enable engineers to move from idea to production faster and more reliably. Responsibilities include: Designing and implementing modern build systems that improve build speed, reliability, and consistency across engineering teamsDeveloping shared build libraries, reusable CI/CD pipelines, and standardised container imagesBuilding observability into engineering platforms to measure performance, reliability, adoption, and developer experienceOptimising build performance through caching, dependency management, incremental execution, and efficient scheduling strategiesCreating workflows that support automated testing, validation, and deployment processesWorking closely with software engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and improve developer workflowsSupporting adoption of new tools, frameworks, and engineering practices across multiple teamsResearching and evaluating emerging technologies within the build systems and developer productivity space About You We're looking for engineers who are passionate about developer productivity and have experience designing and operating build platforms at scale.
