Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Developer role based in Swansea. The Developer will design, build, and maintain software features that support RiderTax’s web and internal systems, ensuring reliability, security, and ease of use. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing new functionality, fixing bugs, reviewing code, writing tests, and collaborating with product and operations teams to refine requirements. The role involves working with data related to user accounts and tax information, integrating third-party services and APIs, and improving performance and scalability as the product grows. The Developer is expected to participate in regular planning sessions, contribute to technical documentation, and support continuous improvement in development practices. Qualifications Strong programming skills in one or more modern languages (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or similar) and experience building production web applications.Knowledge of back-end development concepts, including APIs, databases (SQL or NoSQL), authentication, and security best practices.Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and a contemporary framework (e.g., React, Vue, or similar).Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.Ability to analyze requirements, break down problems, and deliver maintainable, testable code.Comfort working on-site in a collaborative team environment and communicating clearly with non-technical stakeholders.Understanding of or interest in financial, tax, or accounting domains is beneficial.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
