About The Role We are seeking a dedicated DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join our IT and software development team. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining, optimizing, and expanding our existing IT infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery practices. Your expertise will help streamline the deployment processes, reduce turnaround times from development to production, and enhance the overall stability and security of our web applications. The successful candidate will work closely with software developers and system administrators, acting as a vital link to facilitate smooth collaboration and efficient workflows. You will oversee the operation of web applications, manage deployment pipelines, and support patch management and vulnerability mitigation efforts. This position offers a dynamic environment where innovative problem-solving and proactive improvements are highly valued. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a university degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable qualification gained through extensive professional experience. Proven expertise in DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools such as GitLab CI, Ansible, or similar platforms is essential. Experience with Java-based web applications, Nginx configuration, and relational databases like Oracle and PostgreSQL is highly advantageous. Strong skills in Linux environments, container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and scripting languages including Python and Bash are required. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like CheckMK and Splunk will set candidates apart. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies, possess an analytical mindset, and exhibit excellent communication skills in both German and English. Responsibilities Manage the operation, development, and optimization of existing infrastructure in line with DevOps automation principles and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.Maintain and enhance Continuous Delivery pipelines for web applications, including the upkeep and development of GitLab CI pipelines and deployment procedures.Collaborate closely with software developers to provide DevOps expertise, reducing development-to-production cycle times and ensuring seamless integration.Monitor the ongoing operation of web applications, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.Support patch management, vulnerability assessments, and security updates for web components to mitigate risks.Contribute to the automation of infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.Participate in troubleshooting, incident response, and root cause analysis to maintain system stability and reliability.Stay updated on emerging technologies and incorporate best practices to continuously improve our DevOps workflows.
