We are looking for an experienced and proactive IT System Operations Engineer (m/f/d) to join our IT Infrastructure team at home24. Our mission is to provide a stable, secure, and high-performing technical foundation that enables all Homies to work efficiently. In this role, you act as a technical lighthouse, combining hands-on system administration with the coordination and mentoring of our junior administrators to shape the future of our IT landscape. Your Responsibilities You lead the technical direction and coordination of the IT infrastructure team, ensuring alignment with organizational goalsYou facilitate knowledge transfer within the team and actively promote a culture of continuous professional developmentYou plan, operate, and further develop our IT infrastructure to ensure it remains modern, scalable, and efficientYou administer and optimize the network environment, including LAN, WAN, VPN, VLAN, and firewall configurationsYou manage and enhance the server landscape across both Windows and Linux environmentYou ensure a stable and secure IT operation by maintaining high uptime and system integrityYou design and implement robust IT security measures to protect the organization from emerging threatsYou oversee monitoring, performance optimization, and incident management to minimize downtimeYou manage relationships with external service providers to ensure high-quality delivery and cost-effectivenessYou contribute to IT projects and take on technical project leadership to drive innovationYou document and continuously improve IT processes to streamline workflows and maintain high standards of operation Your Profile You are a solution-oriented expert who thrives in a collaborative environment: A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field/equivalent professional trainingSeveral years of proven experience in IT system administration with a track record of handling complex environmentsTechnical Core: Expertise in Networking (LAN,WAN,Routing)Deep understanding of IT Security (Network- & Endpoint Security, Monitoring & Incident Response)Proficiency in Virtualization (e.g., Azure Stack HCI or Hyper-V)Strong expertise in cloud services, with a focus on AWSExperience in functional leadership, mentoring, and technical project managementA structured, independent work style combined with strong communication skills and a team-first mindset.
