Head of Trading Systems and Operations | Trading | Amsterdam | € up to 140K + sign. bonus My client is a well-established market maker, with multiple trading desks and technology teams in Amsterdam. As the firm scales, five previously separate capability areas are being brought under a single owner for the first time, reporting directly to the CTO. You'll lead three delivery lines and oversee two functions: Infrastructure Platform, Performance, and a brand-new Low Latency Engineering function you'll build from the ground up, plus oversight of Workplace Technology and an outsourced Security Operations provider. Several of these teams already have leads in seat, your role is to set direction across all of them and back your leads to execute. You'll be responsible for: Availability and stability of the trading platformThe complete infrastructure footprint: compute, network, cloud, data centre, colocation and venue connectivityBuilding a brand-new Low Latency Engineering function from scratch, ring-fenced from support loadWorkplace technology and oversight of an outsourced Security Operations providerVendor and budget relationships, including the core trading platform vendorLeading through a team of leads already in seat, across five defined capability sets We are looking for someone with experience in: Owning uptime and speed in a live trading environment, where an outage costs money in the momentHolding technical authority across infrastructure, network, cloud and automationSetting a standard in a specialism you don't personally practise, such as latency or securityTurning ad-hoc operations into repeatable, structured onesChange and service management, including building pre-approved paths without weakening controlIdeally: a market making/derivatives background, having built a low latency function So, do you want to own the technology backbone of a live trading firm?
