Senior Cloud Platform Engineer Vancouver, BC (On-Site) Permanent Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000 + Equity We're supporting a rapidly growing Canadian AI & Robotics company as they scale the cloud infrastructure powering their machine learning, deployment and device management platforms. This role sits within a highly technical engineering team and focuses on building the cloud systems, tooling and automation that support AI model training, software deployment, fleet management and secure connectivity across a growing number of deployed systems. This is not a traditional DevOps role. The successful candidate will help shape the next generation of the company's cloud platform, improving how software is deployed, monitored, secured and managed while building internal tools that enable engineering teams to move faster and operate more effectively. The Opportunity You'll be joining at a point where many of the foundations already exist, but the next chapter is about scaling, automation and building a platform capable of supporting the company's next stage of growth. You'll play a key role in: Designing and building scalable cloud infrastructure and platform servicesScaling cloud infrastructure and internal platforms to support a growing number of deployed systemsDeveloping internal tooling, automation frameworks and developer platformsReducing operational bottlenecks through automation and self-service toolingSupporting machine learning and GPU-based training environmentsImproving software deployment, release management and operational workflowsBuilding secure connectivity solutions between cloud systems and deployed devicesImproving observability, monitoring and platform reliabilityContributing to security, governance and compliance initiativesHelping engineering teams move faster through better platform capabilities and automationWorking closely with software, AI and machine learning teams on platform architecture and technical directionCreating a more scalable cloud platform capable of supporting future growth This is a highly visible role with significant ownership and direct influence over technical direction. What We're Looking For 5+ years of software, platform, infrastructure or cloud engineering experienceStrong AWS experience, including designing, building and scaling production cloud environmentsStrong Python development skillsExperience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation or similar)Experience building distributed systems and cloud platforms used by engineering teamsExperience developing internal tooling, automation frameworks, developer platforms or self-service engineering toolsExperience leading cloud migrations, platform modernization initiatives or large-scale automation projectsExperience supporting machine learning, AI or other data-intensive workloadsExperience owning security, access control, compliance or governance-related initiativesExperience operating in product focused technology companies or high-growth engineering environmentsStrong ownership mentality with the ability to operate independently and drive technical initiatives end-to-end Nice To Have AI / Machine Learning infrastructure experienceGPU training or inference environmentsMLOps exposurePlatform engineering experienceConnected device or edge-computing environmentsSecurity, compliance or governance initiatives (SOC2, ISO27001, etc.)Containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)Experience supporting engineering teams through internal tooling and automation If you're interested in learning more, please apply now
