Senior Software Engineer | Java / Platform Reliability

Position: Senior Software Engineer | Java / Platform Reliability Location: Hybrid- Montreal, QC Job type: Full-Time/Permanent Hiring Seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Java development and enterprise platform experience to build, modernize, secure, and support mission-critical applications and file transfer platforms. The role focuses on Java/Spring Boot, APIs, platform reliability, vulnerability remediation, automation, observability, and DevSecOps. Required Skills Strong Java 17+, Spring Boot, REST API, and object-oriented development experience.Experience with Python and/or JavaScript.Strong understanding of secure coding, vulnerability remediation, dependency upgrades, and technical debt reduction.Hands-on Linux/Unix, Shell scripting, and enterprise networking concepts including HTTPS, SSH/SFTP, SMTP, TLS, and TCP/IP.Strong SQL/database experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps practices.Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.Strong production troubleshooting, RCA, resiliency, high availability, and fault-tolerant design experience. Key Responsibilities Develop and support enterprise applications, APIs, integrations, and platform services using Java/Spring Boot.Modernize legacy applications, frameworks, and dependencies while reducing technical debt.Remediate application and infrastructure vulnerabilities and implement secure development practices.Improve platform reliability, resiliency, recoverability, and performance through engineering and automation.Troubleshoot production incidents, perform RCA, and implement permanent corrective actions.Build monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities.Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines and automate testing, deployment, compliance, and operational processes.Support containerized and cloud-ready architectures.Contribute to disaster recovery, business continuity, platform hardening, and modernization initiatives.
