The Role We're looking for an experienced Shopify Web Developer to join our internal agency and own the technical health and ongoing evolution of our Shopify stores. This is a hands-on role covering both frontend and backend work, from theme customizations and new product setup to troubleshooting bugs and working directly with Shopify support when platform-level issues arise. We need someone who takes full ownership of the store's technical operations, responds quickly when things break, and is resourceful enough to dig up answers and solutions independently. Key Responsibilities Develop, customize, and maintain our Shopify theme (Liquid, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to support design and functionality changesBuild and modify custom features, sections, and apps to meet evolving business needsAdd, configure, and maintain new products, collections, variants, and metafieldsDiagnose and resolve bugs across the storefront, checkout, and backend configurationMonitor site performance, uptime, and functionality, proactively identifying issues before they impact customersServe as the primary point of contact with Shopify support, escalating and tracking tickets through resolutionEvaluate, install, configure, and troubleshoot third-party Shopify apps and integrationsManage integrations with other systems (ERP, inventory, shipping, marketing tools, etc.) as neededEnsure the store follows best practices for speed, SEO, accessibility, and mobile responsivenessTest changes across browsers/devices before deployment and maintain a staging environment for major updatesDocument processes, custom code, and configurations for internal referenceStay current on Shopify platform updates, new features, and API changes Required Qualifications Proven experience building and maintaining Shopify stores (Shopify Plus experience a plus)Strong proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScriptFamiliarity with Shopify's theme architecture, Admin API, and Storefront APIExperience working with Shopify apps, metafields, and third-party integrationsComfortable troubleshooting independently and knowing when/how to escalate to Shopify supportStrong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external vendorsExcellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioritiesA self-starter mentality — someone who takes ownership, follows through, and doesn't need to be micromanaged Preferred Qualifications Experience with version control (Git) and deployment workflowsFamiliarity with backend languages/frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Ruby, PHP) for custom app developmentExperience with Shopify Plus features (Scripts, Flow, Functions)Background in UX/UI or e-commerce conversion optimizationExperience with performance auditing tools (Lighthouse, GTmetrix, etc.) What Success Looks Like Store issues are identified and resolved quickly, with minimal downtime or customer impactNew products and features are launched accurately and on scheduleShopify support interactions are handled efficiently, with clear documentation and follow-throughStakeholders trust this role to flag problems before they escalate and to propose solutions, not just report issues Benefits & Compensation Compensation: The base salary range for this position begins is $75,000-$100,000 per year; final salary offer based on experience and skillset.Insurance & Wellness: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits, plus savings plans.Retirement Savings: Plan for your future with a 401(k) savings plan featuring a company match.Flexible Time Off: Take the time you need with a flex PTO plan, sick time, and paid holidays.Extra Perks: Monthly stipend to spend on our products and gear, access to the RAW Athletic Clubs in Port St. Lucie and Stuart, FL, and discounts on our family of brands.
