Embedded Emulation Engineer (C/C++) About the role We are looking for an engineer who enjoys working at the boundary between software, controls, emulation and mechatronics. You will work on a complex automated material handling and sorting system built from mechanical, electrical and software components. Your work does not stop at writing code: you will be involved in understanding how drives, sensors, actuators and control software interact as one integrated system. Together with software, controls, mechanical and system engineers you will improve product functionality, engineering efficiency, testability and product quality. What you will do Develop embedded features — build and maintain embedded software in line with the controls roadmap, and analyse and troubleshoot complex mechatronic system behaviourCI/CD & DevOps — build, stabilise and maintain automation pipelines, artifact management and release governanceScale emulation — maintain and extend simulators and digital twins, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines to increase automated test capacityAutomate deployments — embed code reviews and unit tests in the daily flow and automate deployments across systemsBridge the chain — set technical standards, improve developer experience and safeguard traceability from Jira through to GherkinTravel — occasional visits to manufacturing facilities and project sites Your profile Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechatronics, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or Computer ScienceSolid professional experience writing and reviewing embedded C; C++ is preferredExperience with Linux and Linux networking, preferably real-time LinuxExperience with industrial fieldbuses such as EtherNet/IP and CIPExperience with embedded controllers (Cortex-M, STM32) is strongly preferredProven track record stabilising CI/CD pipelines and managing automated deployment environmentsExperience with digital twins, hardware simulators or automated test pipelinesExperience with complex mechatronic systems and affinity with mechanical and electrical systemsMATLAB and integrating MATLAB-generated C code is strongly preferredPython or a comparable scripting language is preferredQuality-driven: automated testing, unit tests, code reviews, first-time-right deliveryReliable team player who shares knowledge and supports distributed ownership
