The position
As a Data Platform Engineer at agap2, you take on the challenge within an international environment with a local focus.

Key Responsibilities
You will help build, operate, and scale our Azure-based platform.
You will apply modern platform engineering principles to deliver reliable, secure, and self-service capabilities for our data and product teams.
You’ll work across infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, reliability, and security, helping us evolve from our current single-region setup towards a platform that can support users across Europe and, ultimately, globally.
Build and operate our Azure platform at scale, applying platform engineering principles to provide reliable and self-service capabilities for data and product teams.Design and maintain CI/CD workflows and Linux-based tooling, ensuring smooth, automated, secure, and repeatable delivery across the MAD landscape.Drive innovation across architecture, reliability, and security, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and automating processes to increase efficiency.Manage infrastructure using a GitOps way of working, treating Git as the single source of truth and ensuring changes are versioned, reviewable, reproducible, and auditable.Enable engineers and stakeholders through clear platform guardrails, documentation, and guidance on how to use the platform safely and effectively.Improve platform scalability and resilience as we grow from a single-region setup towards supporting users across Europe and, eventually, a global user base.Own production systems, taking responsibility for reliability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.Work as a generalist across infrastructure, automation, and CI/CD, switching comfortably between different technical challenges as needed
What you bring to the position
5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or similar, including hands-on ownership of production systems.3+ years of hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably with Terraform, including building reusable, versioned, and maintainable modules across multiple environments.Strong Python development skills, with experience writing typed, well-tested, maintainable automation and working with cloud REST APIs and SDKs.Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure, including:Networking, private endpoints, NSGs, and hub-and-spoke architecturesStorage servicesIAM/RBAC and Entra IDStrong experience with CI/CD pipeline engineering, for example GitHub Actions, including designing reusable pipelines and workflows that run on Linux runners.A generalist mindset and enthusiasm for working across infrastructure, automation, CI/CD, reliability, and security.
Nice to Have
Experience with Databricks administration.Understanding of Databricks concepts such as Delta Lake and Unity Catalog.Familiarity with observability, monitoring, and structured logging.Experience designing platforms for multi-region or globally distributed environments.
