Job ID: 26-25018 Job Title: DevOPS/Cloud Engineer - Senior Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid - 3 days onsite) Duration: 130 Business Days with possible extension Client: Public Sector Pay Rate: CAD $100 per hour Role Overview This is a Senior DevOps/Cloud Engineer role focused on designing, building, and supporting CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments for enterprise applications. The person will work with platforms such as AWS or OpenShift, Linux environments, and container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, while automating deployments and supporting application delivery across cloud and on-prem environments. The key requirements are strong hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD, Linux, Python/Bash or similar scripting, Git, Ansible, containerization, and Kubernetes/OpenShift, along with experience troubleshooting deployments, monitoring application performance, resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities, and maintaining secure, reliable cloud environments. Must Have: GitLab CI/CD requiredExperience in one of the leading cloud platforms such as AWS, OpenShift etc.Experience in maintaining complex Linux cloud environments, like CentOS, Ubuntu to support applications and services.Experience in scripting languages like Python, Bash, Java, JavaScript, Node, etc.Experience in build tools like Git, Ansible, CloudFormation, ytt etc. for continuous integrationExperience in application code containerization and container-based virtualization technology like Docker, K8S etc.Role and responsibilities. Design, build, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines.Deploy and support applications in AWS/OpenShift cloud environments.Manage Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS) environments.Containerize applications using Docker/Kubernetes.Automate deployments using Python, Bash, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.Monitor systems, troubleshoot infrastructure/deployment issues, and address security vulnerabilities.Integrate systems using APIs and create technical documentation/reports.Track defects and support testing across the application lifecycle.Russell Tobin is a leading minority-owned professional and technical recruitment and staffing advisory organization.
