Senior Automation Engineer

Cognizant is an American multinational company providing information technology, consulting, and business process outsourcing services. We are looking for Senior Automation Engineer. The role purpose is to own and operate the 24x7 self-service developer platform, providing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) / Integration-and-Delivery Platform (IDP) tooling that streamline and automate development workflows across technology teams. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that support automated build, test, and release processes. Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates and modules to standardize environment provisioning. Operate and continuously improve the Internal Developer Platform (IDP), enabling self-service capabilities for engineering teams. Monitor and support the availability of automation and development tooling on a 24x7 basis. Automate and streamline developer workflows to reduce manual effort and improve delivery speed. Collaborate with development teams to gather requirements and continuously enhance the platform's usability. Ensure security, compliance, and quality gates are embedded within CI/CD pipelines. Troubleshoot and resolve incidents impacting the developer platform, escalating as required. Required Skills & Experience Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions). Strong knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi). Scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation. Understanding of container and cloud technologies. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within a 24x7 operational environment.
