Description

About the RoleThe Head of Tech Advisory ( Product) is the front door of People Tech for the business. This role leads the function responsible for evaluating, shaping, and prioritising all incoming demand from the People organisation β€” ensuring that only well-scoped, high-value, and strategically aligned initiatives enter the People Tech delivery pipeline. Tech Advisory ( Product) is organised by HR domain cluster, not by technical function. The Head leads a team of 3–4 Domain Advisors, each owning a cluster of HR domains and acting as the single point of contact for those business stakeholders. The Head coordinates the team, owns portfolio intake quality, and reports directly to the Director. This is a business-facing leadership role that requires deep credibility on both sides of the table β€” trusted by HR leaders as a strategic partner, and respected by the People Tech team as a rigorous filter that protects delivery quality. Key ResponsibilitiesDemand Intake & Portfolio Quality Own the end-to-end intake process for all incoming demand from the People & HR business.Ensure every initiative receives a Go / Shape / No-go decision within 10 business days.Maintain >90% brief acceptance rate from Tech PMO β€” quality of hand-off is a core KPI.Ensure the active portfolio remains aligned with the 40/40/20 capacity model (within 5% of targets).Communicate all No-go decisions in writing with clear rationale to the requesting stakeholder. Team Leadership & Domain Coverage Lead, coordinate, and develop a team of 7–10 Domain Advisors across HR domain clusters.Ensure full domain coverage: Talent, Compensation, Payroll, Compliance, Analytics, Workforce Planning, DEI, and HR Strategy.Act as an escalation point for complex or cross-domain intake decisions.Run regular team syncs and maintain intake pipeline visibility across all domains. Business Relationship Management Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior HR leaders and COE managers.Act as a strategic partner to the business β€” not just a gatekeeper, but a thought partner on how technology can solve business problems.Brief HR stakeholders on the Tech Advisory ( Product) intake model and manage expectations around timelines and decisions.Represent People Tech in business forums and HR leadership discussions. Strategic Alignment & Roadmap Input Collaborate closely with the Senior Strategy Manager to ensure intake decisions reflect the area's strategic roadmap.Identify demand patterns per domain and surface them to the Director as inputs for portfolio planning.Coordinate on transformation initiatives that span multiple HR domains or require cross-functional alignment. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting Report intake volume, pipeline quality, and portfolio balance to the Director on a monthly basis.Track and report KPIs: response time, decision quality, business satisfaction score (>8/10 target), and 40/40/20 alignment.Ensure the business always knows the status of their requests β€” no initiative goes dark. What We Are Looking ForExperience 12+ years of experience bridging business and technology β€” ideally in HR Tech, HR consulting, business analysis, or demand management.Proven experience managing stakeholders at senior and ELT level across multiple functions.Deep knowledge of HR domains β€” Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Payroll, Analytics, or similar.Experience leading small, high-impact teams in a fast-moving environment. Background in portfolio management, intake governance, or product management is a strong plus. Skills Mastery in stakeholder management β€” builds trust quickly and maintains it under pressure.Strategic thinking β€” evaluates initiatives against a broader roadmap, not just immediate demand.Strong written communication β€” brief writing is a core output of this role and the team.Comfortable making and communicating difficult decisions (No-go) with clarity and empathy.People leadership β€” develops Advisors who are business-savvy, not just technically curious.Business process analysis β€” uncovers the real problem behind a request, not just the stated one. Mindset Business-first β€” speaks the language of HR leaders, not just the language of technology.Quality over volume β€” success is the quality of what enters the pipeline, not how many requests are processed.Relationship-first β€” the Advisor is often the face of People Tech for the business; trust is the currency.Decisive β€” can make a No-go call and communicate it well, without damaging the relationship. Why This RoleTech Advisory ( Product) is a newly created function at the heart of People Tech's operating model β€” the intelligent filter between business ambition and technology delivery. The Head of Tech Advisory ( Product) will build and shape this function from the ground up, with direct impact on how one of the company's most strategically visible HR technology teams operates. This is a rare opportunity for someone who loves both the business and the technology side β€” and who wants to be the bridge between them at a company that is genuinely moving fast on AI, automation, and HR transformation.
