We are currently looking for a highly skilled Backend Software Engineer (Go) to our team in Stockholm, Sweden. Please note that applicants must live in Sweden and hold a valid work permit at the time of application to be considered for this role. Responsibilities Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure RESTful APIsDevelop applications on embedded platforms, integrating closely with hardware and network systemsArchitect and document backend software systems with a focus on performance, maintainability, and scalabilityPerform network programming and system-level integration across multiple subsystemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineering, UX Design, and QA to ensure cohesive product developmentEnsure high-quality deliverables and meet project timelines consistentlyParticipate in code reviews and actively share knowledge to foster a culture of continuous improvement Requirements 5+ years of experience with Golang in a production environment5+ years of experience working with relational databases (RDBMS) such as PostgreSQL or MySQLDemonstrated expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and adaptable mindsetProficiency in AI development environments (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) and expertise in AI development techniques, such as Spec-Driven DevelopmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong sense of ownership of tasks and responsibilitiesHighly proficient in English (written and spoken) Nice To Have Experience developing or maintaining IoT platforms or connected device ecosystems, including best practices for security (authentication, encryption, secure communication)Knowledge of IoT protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, or WebSockets for efficient communicationFamiliarity with Matter and Thread protocols, including their architecture, security, and implementation considerationsUnderstanding of device provisioning, firmware over-the-air (OTA) updates, and device lifecycle managementExposure to edge computing paradigms and cloud-to-device integration patternsProficiency in asynchronous programming and event-driven systemsExperience with telemetry data collection, real-time data processing, and time-series data storesFamiliar with Debian/Ubuntu, Linux application/service development, and CLI environmentFamiliar with Linux networking stack, routing, packet analysis (tcpdump/Wireshark), and firewall management Benefits International work environmentCompetitive compensation package including wellness allowance, occupational pension, medical insurance, private health insurance, life insurance and work-injury insuranceFive weeks of holiday per yearFlexible work hours and hybrid work modelModern office space located in Epicenter (Hötorget)Access to all the latest Ubiquiti products and prototypes for home use and tests Please note that a background check will be conducted in the final stage of the recruitment process
