Description
Join a small, ambitious team building the forecasting and decision-support capabilities behind an AI-driven cost intelligence platform for enterprise procurement.

π Location: Leuven, Belgium (with flexible work from home policies)
We're hiring a software engineer who can take complex product problems from first principles to production.
You'll work across Python and TypeScript, own substantial features across system boundaries, and help turn forecasting and analytical requirements into reliable product capabilities.
We're looking for engineering depth rather than framework familiarity alone: sound design, clear domain models, pragmatic testing, and maintainable systems.
About Predikt
Enterprises spend billions on raw materials and packaging β exposed to commodities, oil, tariffs, FX, and supply shocks.
At Predikt, we help CPG procurement teams anticipate that exposure and make smarter spend decisions.
We already support billions in direct spend, and we're scaling the platform.
We're a Swiss-Belgian deeptech startup, small and ambitious.
Our culture is direct: radical transparency, high ownership, and a strong customer focus.
About the Role
You'll join a small, fast-moving engineering team and own features end-to-end β from understanding an ambiguous product problem and shaping the solution to implementation, testing, and rollout.
You'll work closely with product management and our solution architect, while operating with significant autonomy and challenging proposed solutions when the underlying problem calls for a different approach.
Our stack includes Python + FastAPI on the backend and Next.js + TypeScript + React on the frontend, supported by an analytics framework for product-facing forecasting and decision support.
Infrastructure support is available; this role is focused on building product capabilities rather than owning the platform.
We're open to strong mid-level and senior engineers.
We care more about your judgment, ownership, and ability to work across boundaries than a specific number of years.
What You'll Work On
Forecasting and decision support.
Translate complex procurement requirements β such as forecasting, hedging, and scenario analysis β into clear domain behavior and useful product features.End-to-end feature ownership.
Design and ship capabilities spanning Python domain logic, services and APIs, and the TypeScript/React interfaces through which customers use them.Product and solution shaping.
Develop a deep understanding of the product and codebase, discuss tradeoffs with product management, and help redefine problems before committing to an implementation.Pragmatic engineering improvement.
Improve architecture, testing, performance, and maintainability as you ship, balancing long-term quality with delivery needs.
Requirements
Strong software-engineering fundamentals and meaningful production experience with Python.
Python does not need to be your deepest language, but you must be independently productive in it.Production experience with TypeScript and React β enough to independently build the frontend portion of a substantial feature.
You do not need to be a frontend specialist.Evidence of owning a complex feature across backend and frontend boundaries.Ability to turn ambiguous domain requirements into a maintainable implementation with clear concepts, invariants, edge cases, and tradeoffs.Convincing data reasoning: you can understand transformations and dependencies, question assumptions, and validate correctness without needing to be a data engineer or analyst.High ownership and autonomy, with good judgment about when to align with product, architecture, or other specialists.A pragmatic quality mindset: you leave systems better while continuing to deliver.Strong communication and a team-first attitude.
Nice to Haves
Experience with FastAPI, Next.js, or similar frameworks.Experience with forecasting, simulation, optimization, analytical product features, or other decision-support systems.Comfort with SQL or analytical Python tooling.Experience in procurement, finance, supply chain, or another complex enterprise domain.Interest in AI-enabled product experiences.
Prior LLM or agent experience is not required, but there is room to explore it if it interests you.
What Makes This Role Different
This is a broad software-engineering role, not a frontend-specialist position.Analytics means building reusable product capabilities from complex domain requirements β not ad hoc analysis or ownership of data infrastructure.Infrastructure is supported by specialists; your primary responsibility is delivering product features.Success requires contributing to the solution, not only implementing a detailed specification.
