DevOps Engineer
Malaga or Madrid based, hyrbid working with 2 days a week in the office
We’re looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a collaborative technical team working directly with clients and across the full software delivery lifecycle.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring applications and their supporting environments remain reliable, consistent and efficient, combining hands-on infrastructure management with automation, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
Role & Responsibilities
Work directly with clients to understand technical and operational requirements and deliver effective DevOps solutions.Support and maintain development, test, pre-production and production environments.Provision, configure, maintain, upgrade and patch virtual machines across private cloud and virtualisation platforms.Automate infrastructure and repetitive operational tasks using Ansible, Terraform, GitLab CI/CD, Bash and Python.Support and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines, deployments, builds and environment-related issues.Standardise developer environments and workflows, reducing configuration inconsistencies and manual intervention.Monitor environment health, capacity and availability, identifying configuration drift and implementing improvements.Build and maintain reusable infrastructure code, templates, golden images, base containers and automation components.Troubleshoot issues across networking, DNS, certificates, identity and access management, secrets management and service discovery.Work closely with software engineering, infrastructure, database, networking and security teams.Participate in incident investigation, root-cause analysis and the implementation of permanent fixes.Identify opportunities to improve reliability, automation and the speed and consistency of software delivery.
Experience & Skills Required
Strong hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting Linux-based systems.Experience managing virtual machines within environments such as OpenStack or VMware.Good knowledge of container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.Practical experience with Terraform and Ansible or similar Infrastructure-as-Code/configuration management tools.Experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD, ideally GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins or Bamboo.Strong scripting skills using Bash, Python or a comparable language.Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, operating systems, applications, networking and deployment pipelines.Good understanding of networking fundamentals including DNS, routing, load balancing, connectivity and TLS certificates.Familiarity with monitoring and observability technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana and ELK/EFK.Exposure to secrets management, authentication and access-control technologies such as Vault and Keycloak.Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with clients and a range of technical stakeholders.Experience with Argo CD, Helm, highly available or business-critical applications, managed-service environments and security hardening would be advantageous.
