The client operates an internal development center, a product-focused engineering unit embedded within the firm, responsible for building and delivering proprietary software across four core service lines.
The unit runs approximately 50 active projects across five product verticals, built on an Azure-based technology stack.
About The Team
The candidate will join Brightgrove's embedded team, working alongside existing placements including Product Owners, Engineering Leads, and specialists across the client's product verticals.
On the client side, they will report to the Technology Solutions Lead and collaborate daily with Product Owners, Engineering Leads and development teams across verticals.
The client's development center is organized around three pillars: Product Management, Technology & Engineering and Digital Operations, and this role sits firmly within the Technology & Engineering pillar.
DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the platforms, pipelines, automation, and operational practices that enable reliable and efficient delivery of digital products.
This role supports development teams across the software delivery lifecycle by improving CI/CD capabilities, infrastructure automation, cloud operations, monitoring, release management, and platform reliability.
The DevOps Engineer ensures that solutions are secure, scalable, observable, and aligned with enterprise technology standards.

Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support efficient, repeatable, and secure software delivery.Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, deployment, and operational tasks using Infrastructure as Code practices.Support cloud platform operations, including environment setup, deployment automation, scaling, monitoring, and incident resolution.Collaborate with developers, architects, security teams, and project managers to ensure smooth delivery from development through production.Define and maintain deployment strategies, release processes, branching models, and environment management practices.Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions to improve system reliability and operational visibility.Support containerized and cloud-native workloads, including orchestration, runtime configuration, and deployment automation.Ensure DevOps practices comply with enterprise architecture, security, cloud, and operational standards.Identify performance, reliability, and deployment risks, and proactively implement mitigation actions.Troubleshoot build, deployment, infrastructure, and production issues in collaboration with development and operations teams.Maintain technical documentation for pipelines, environments, deployment procedures, operational runbooks, and platform standards.Promote DevOps culture, automation-first thinking, and continuous improvement across delivery teams.
Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or similar role in software delivery environments.Strong experience with CI/CD tools and practices, such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or equivalent.Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, Ansible, or similar.Good understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with scripting and automation using languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar.Understanding of networking, security, identity, secrets management, and cloud governance principles.Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or similar.Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across application, infrastructure, and deployment layers.Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Experience working in Agile delivery environments is an advantage
Preferred Skills
Experience with Azure DevOps and Microsoft Azure cloud services.Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including security scanning, dependency checks, policy-as-code, and secure release gates.Experience supporting microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, or cloud-native architectures.Familiarity with ITIL, incident management, change management, and production support processes.Understanding of enterprise architecture standards and regulated delivery environments
