This is a full-time role based in Sydney, Australia. Job Description What you'd be doing in this role As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. This will give you a flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve. You'll join our Learning Experience group within Teams and Education, helping us ignite creativity in every learner. At Canva, we're building learning experiences that make creativity, collaboration and visual communication accessible to students, educators and learning communities around the world. At the moment, this role is focused on: Building high-quality, intuitive frontend experiences that make Canva easier and more delightful for learners and educators. Taking ownership of complex frontend problems, from understanding user needs through to designing, building and shipping thoughtful solutions. Working closely with Product, Design and Engineering partners to turn ideas into simple, scalable experiences. Improving the quality, performance, reliability and maintainability of the frontend systems you work across. Using sound engineering judgement to solve complex problems, balancing short-term delivery with longer-term product and technical outcomes. Contributing to engineering practices within the team through thoughtful code reviews, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Identifying opportunities to improve experiences across Learning Experience and collaborating with related teams where a broader solution will create more impact. You're probably a match if You have strong commercial experience building modern, user-facing web applications and deep expertise in frontend engineering. You're comfortable taking a complex problem, working through multiple sources of information and independently finding a practical path forward. You care deeply about the quality of the experiences you build, including performance, accessibility, reliability and maintainability. You enjoy collaborating closely with product managers, designers and other engineers, and can clearly communicate technical ideas and trade-offs. You make considered technical decisions and understand how your work can influence both your immediate team and the teams around you. You're motivated by building products that help people learn, collaborate and bring their ideas to life. We're focused on powering up design to enable learning, creativity, collaboration and productivity, with Learning Experience specifically working to ignite creativity in every learner.
